Jamie originated in Denver though she feels closer to home in Brooklyn. She is a writer, theorist and
Transgender/LGBTQ+ activist. She is an active member of the Transgender Community and an advocate for equality for all people. Jamie lives in Albuquerque with her wife and two adorable cats; she enjoys spending her time reading, writing, and waching TV. Currently she is working on a novel and memoir. 

She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from The New School in New York City (2013) and BA in English from UNM.

Jamie has previously taught at The NYC College of Technology, SUNY Westchester Community College, SUNY College at Old Westbury, Farmingdale State College, and CNM. Currently she is an instructor of English at NMT.
